Inner Circle Music and Film!

In May 2009 Inner Circle recording artists Lauren Sevian, Jacob Yoffee, and Russell Kirk completed a film score in an ongoing collaboration with director Emily Carmichael and producer Josh Hetzler. “The Ghost and Us” will premier at CineVegas 2009 (an annual Las Vegas film festival) on June 12th , another screening at the festival will be June 14th.

The score, composed entirely by Jacob Yoffee, was inspired by bassist /composer Charles Mingus. Jacob stated in an interview:

“When Emily (the director) and I sat down to talk about the music she told me the film called for ruckus jazz music. She even temp’d the movie with snippets of “The Black Saint and the Sinner Lady” by Mingus. I knew I had to call Lauren; her experience with the Mingus Band is exactly what I need. Russell, having also scored for film, was the next person I knew I had to call.”
