Lauren Sevian's "LSQ": featuring Lauren Sevian (baritone saxophone), George Colligan (piano), Boris Kozlov (bass), & Johnathan Blake (drums) with special guest Mike DiRubbo (alto saxophone).
Her first record as a leader, "Blueprint", features original music composed by Sevian, which showcases the baritone saxophone as a solo instrument and compositional vehicle. The majority of music was composed on the baritone saxophone, utilizing the complete range & melodic capability of the instrument, stylistically ranging from hard bop to free form.
The core trio of Colligan, Kozlov, & Blake bring the music to life with their own harmonic and rhythmic sensibilities & interpretations of the music.
